Problem

A diver of mass 60 kg stands at rest on a platform 10 m above the water and then jumps. At a point 4 m above the water her speed is 8 m/s. Take g=10 m/s2g = 10\,\text{m/s}^2. (i) Which form of energy (kinetic or potential) is greater when she is on the platform? (ii) Which form of energy is greater when she is 4 m above the water? (iii) Has her total mechanical energy increased, decreased or remained the same during the fall? State one reason for your answer.
