Problem

A sheet of graph paper with 1 cm squares is kept so that the y-axis coincides with the reflecting surface of a vertical plane mirror. A point light source P is at the coordinate (4 cm, 3 cm). (a) Mark the position of P on the graph paper. (b) Draw any two incident rays from P that fall on the mirror, show their reflected rays, and obtain the position of the image P′ by construction. (c) Write the coordinates of P′. (d) State whether the image is real or virtual and whether it is erect or inverted.
