Problem

A hockey puck of mass 0.15 kg0.15\,\text{kg} lies at rest on a perfectly smooth horizontal ice surface. A constant horizontal force of 12 N12\,\text{N} acts on the puck for 0.18 s0.18\,\text{s} in the forward direction. (i) Write the physical quantity represented by the product of the applied force and the time of application. (ii) Calculate the magnitude of this quantity for the given data. (iii) Hence determine the speed acquired by the puck immediately after the force ceases to act.
