A survey of 500 students in a higher-secondary school recorded whether each student passed in Mathematics (A) and in Physics (B). It was found that 225 students passed in Mathematics, 300 students passed in Physics and 150 students passed in both the subjects.
(i) Find P(A), P(B) and P(A∩B) for the experiment of choosing one student at random.
(ii) Calculate P(A∣B) and P(B∣A).
(iii) Decide, with reason, whether passing in Mathematics and passing in Physics are independent events for this group of students.
(iv) Interpret in words the numerical value obtained for P(A∣B).
