Problem

An optical fibre has core refractive index 1.50 and cladding refractive index 1.46. Light enters the fibre from air. Determine the maximum angle with the fibre axis at which light can enter the core and still be guided. (Take refractive index of air as 1.00 and give the answer to the nearest degree.)
