Problem

A beam of unpolarised light of wavelength 400 nm400\,\text{nm} and power 5.0 mW5.0\,\text{mW} is incident normally on a linear polariser whose transmission axis is oriented at 45∘45^{\circ} to a reference axis. Immediately after the polariser a clean sodium surface (work function 2.2 eV2.2\,\text{eV}) is placed perpendicular to the beam. A photosensitive ammeter connected to the sodium surface measures the photocurrent produced. (a) (i) – (b) (ii) – (c) (iii) – (d) (iv)(1) – (e) (iv)(2) –
