A student examines how the nature and size of the image formed by a concave mirror depend on the position of the object.
For a concave mirror of focal length 15 cm answer the following questions.
(a) Define real image and virtual image.
(b) With the help of neatly labelled ray diagrams, describe the region(s) of object placement that will produce:
(a) an inverted, diminished real image,
(b) an inverted, magnified real image.
(c) Show logically why the magnification produced by this mirror is greater than 1 only when the object lies between the principal focus and the centre of curvature.
