Problem
Three ideal blackbody curves X, Y, and Z are plotted on the same intensity–wavelength axes. Their peak wavelengths are 250 nm, 500 nm, and 750 nm, respectively, and the maximum intensity of curve X is nine times that of curve Z.
(1) Rank the temperatures of the three blackbodies from highest to lowest.
(2) Determine the ratio of the total power emitted per unit area by curve Y to that by curve Z.
