Problem

A very dilute acidic solution of Cd2+\text{Cd}^{2+} and Ni2+\text{Ni}^{2+} gives only yellow ppt. of CdS\text{CdS} on passing H2S\text{H}_2\text{S} , this is due to : (1) Solubility product ( KspK_{sp} ) of CdS\text{CdS} is more than that of NiS\text{NiS} (2) Solubility product ( KspK_{sp} ) of CdS\text{CdS} is less than that of NiS\text{NiS} (3) Cd2+\text{Cd}^{2+} belong to IIB group while Ni2+\text{Ni}^{2+} belongs to IVth group (4) CdS\text{CdS} is insoluble in yellow ammonium sulphide (YAS)
