Problem

Four metal surfaces E, F, G and H have work functions 1.5 eV, 3.0 eV, 4.0 eV and 4.3 eV respectively. Each surface is first illuminated with light of photon energy 4.5 eV and then with light of photon energy 6.0 eV (intensities are the same in both cases). For every surface the two stopping potentials obtained are V1V_1 (for 4.5 eV) and V2V_2 (for 6.0 eV). Arrange the surfaces in descending order of the ratio V2/V1V_2/V_1. (a) G > H > F > E (b) H > F > G > E (c) H > G > F > E (d) E > F > G > H
