Problem

A sinusoidal wave of frequency 1200 Hz1200\,\text{Hz} travels successively through three media A, B and C. The speeds of the wave in the three media are 300 m s−1300\,\text{m\,s}^{-1}, 240 m s−1240\,\text{m\,s}^{-1} and 480 m s−1480\,\text{m\,s}^{-1} respectively. (a) Calculate the wavelength of the wave in each medium. (b) Write the ratio λA:λB:λC\lambda_{A} : \lambda_{B} : \lambda_{C}.
