Problem

Consider the integral I=∫ln⁡x dxI = \int \ln x\,dx. (i) State the rule for the integral of the product of two differentiable functions of xx that is obtained from the product rule of differentiation. (ii) Explain, with a brief reason, how the integrand ln⁡x\ln x may be expressed in a form suitable for application of the rule stated in part (i). (iii) Hence, evaluate II and simplify your answer.
