Problem

A vertical tower TQ stands on horizontal ground at point Q. Two pegs A and B lie on the same straight line through Q. Peg B is 11 m farther from Q than peg A. Support wires are stretched from the top of the tower T to the pegs. The wire attached to peg A is 13 m long and the wire attached to peg B is 20 m long. (i) If QA = x metres, form an equation in x using the given information. (ii) Solve the equation to find the distance QA. (iii) Hence find the height of the tower. (iv) Determine the distance QB.
