Problem
Three identical low-friction trolleys are placed on a straight track. Trolley A has a mass of 2 kg, trolley B has a mass of 4 kg, and trolley C has a mass of 6 kg. A student gives each trolley the same constant horizontal force of 3 N for exactly 2 s.
(i) Calculate the acceleration produced in each trolley during the 2 s push.
(ii) Determine the change in velocity of each trolley at the end of the 2 s period.
(iii) Using your results, rank the trolleys from the one that is hardest to change in motion to the one that is easiest, and justify your ranking.
