Problem

A straight conductor of length 0.40 m0.40\,\text{m} carries a current of 5 A5\,\text{A} in a uniform magnetic field of strength 0.30 T0.30\,\text{T}. Answer the following: (a) Calculate the maximum force that this conductor can experience in the given field. (b) Find the acute angle the conductor should make with the magnetic field so that the force becomes exactly half of the maximum value. (c) If the conductor length is doubled but kept at the angle obtained in part (b) with the same current and field, compute the new force acting on it.
