Problem

The pitch of a screw gauge having 5050 divisions on its circular scale is 1 mm1\,\mathrm{mm}. When the two jaws of the screw gauge are in contact, the zero of the circular scale lies 66 divisions below the reference line. When a wire is placed between the jaws, 33 linear-scale divisions are clearly visible while the 3131st division on the circular scale coincides with the reference line. Find the diameter of the wire.
