Problem
On a particular highway, the probability of rain on any given morning is 0.30. Traffic-control data show that the probability of a traffic jam on a rainy morning is 0.40, while on a non-rainy morning it drops to 0.10.
(a) Calculate the probability that there is a traffic jam on a randomly chosen morning.
(b) A morning is observed to be free of traffic jam. Determine the probability that it was not raining on that morning.
