Problem

A body of mass 2 kg2\,\text{kg} lies on a smooth horizontal table. Two horizontal forces F1=8 NF_1=8\,\text{N} and F2=6 NF_2=6\,\text{N} act simultaneously at the point mass, the angle between them being 60∘60^{\circ}. Answer the following. (a) Draw a clear force diagram showing the two given forces and the unknown resultant. (b) Calculate the magnitude of the resultant force on the body. (c) Determine the direction of the resultant force with respect to the line of action of the 8 N8\,\text{N} force. (d) Find the magnitude of the acceleration produced in the body.
