Problem

A block of mass 10 kg10\,\text{kg} is released from rest at the top of a smooth incline that is 25 m25\,\text{m} long and makes an angle of 30∘30^{\circ} with the horizontal. Take g=9.8 m/s2g = 9.8\,\text{m/s}^2. (i) Calculate the vertical height of the top of the incline above its bottom end. (ii) Determine the speed of the block when it reaches the bottom of the incline. (iii) Find the kinetic energy of the block at the bottom. (iv) Comment on the change in the block’s potential and kinetic energies between the top and the bottom of the incline.
