Problem
A small bar magnet is suspended so that it can rotate freely in a horizontal uniform magnetic field of magnitude 0.020 T. When the magnet is kept with its axis perpendicular to the field, the maximum restoring torque experienced by it is measured to be 0.060 N m.
(i) Determine the magnetic dipole moment of the bar magnet.
(ii) If the distance between its poles is 6.0 cm, find the magnitude of its pole strength.
