Problem

The isotope 1940K{}_{19}^{40}\text{K} of potassium is unstable, with a half-life of 1.25×1091.25 \times 10^9 years. It decays into the stable isotope 1840Ar{}_{18}^{40}\text{Ar} . moon rocks were found to contain a ratio of potassium to argon atoms of 1 : 7. Find the age of the moon rocks. (You may assume that no argon was present in the rocks when they were formed.)
