Problem

Two organ pipes, each open at both ends, have lengths 60 cm60\,\text{cm} and 75 cm75\,\text{cm} respectively. The speed of sound in air is 340 m s−1340\,\text{m\,s}^{-1}. (i) Calculate the ratio of their fundamental frequencies. (ii) Find the least frequency (other than zero) at which both pipes can resonate simultaneously, stating which harmonic of each pipe is involved.
