Two sound waves travel through air (temperature kept constant) with wavelengths 68 cm and 34 cm respectively. The speed of sound in air under these conditions is 340 m s⁻¹.
(i) Find the frequency of each wave.
(ii) Compare their time periods. By what factor is one larger than the other?
(iii) The second wave now enters water where its speed becomes 1500 m s⁻¹ while its frequency remains unchanged. Calculate its wavelength in water.
