Problem

A 2.0 kg2.0\,\text{kg} block is moving on a frictionless track with a speed of 6 m/s6\,\text{m/s} at a height of 5.0 m5.0\,\text{m} above the ground. Take g=9.8 m/s2g = 9.8\,\text{m/s}^2. (i) Calculate the kinetic energy of the block at this position. (ii) Calculate its potential energy with respect to the ground. (iii) Determine its total mechanical energy at that instant.
