Problem

A simple pendulum is set into oscillation and a student records its motion. Answer the following questions based on the observations below: (i) Define (a) frequency and (b) time period of an oscillatory motion. (ii) The pendulum completes 8080 complete oscillations in 2 min2\,\text{min}. Calculate its frequency and time period. (iii) While carrying out such an experiment, the student is advised to count a large number of oscillations instead of just one. Explain why this practice gives a more accurate value of the time period.
