Problem

A child makes a caterpillar out of modelling clay. The density of the clay is 1.45 g cm−31.45 \text{ g cm}^{-3} . She starts by making a sphere of radius 3 cm. She then adds more spheres, each with radius half the previous one. (1) Find the mass of this sphere. (2) Show that the mass of the caterpillar can never reach 200 g.
