Problem

The sum of the first nn terms of a sequence is Sn=pn2−2n,S_n = pn^2 - 2n, where pp is a constant. It is known that the fifth term is 3434 and the tenth term is 7474. (i) Express the nnth term ana_n in terms of nn and pp. (ii) Using the given information, find the value of pp. (iii) Hence obtain the first term and the common difference of the sequence. (iv) Find the sum of the first 20 terms.
