Problem

A cylindrical underground tank is to be filled with water from a single tap. • Inner radius of the tank = 1.2 m • Height of the tank = 2.5 m • The tap discharges water at the constant rate of 600 L per minute. Assuming the tank is initially empty, answer the following. (i) Calculate the capacity of the tank in litres, taking π=3.14\pi = 3.14. (ii) Determine the time, in minutes, required by the tap to fill the tank completely.
