Problem

Three displacement vectors are given as P=4 i^−3 j^ m\mathbf{P}=4\,\hat{i}-3\,\hat{j}\,\text{m}, Q=−1 i^+2 j^ m\mathbf{Q}=-1\,\hat{i}+2\,\hat{j}\,\text{m} and R=0.5 i^−1.5 j^ m\mathbf{R}=0.5\,\hat{i}-1.5\,\hat{j}\,\text{m}. (i) Calculate the resultant vector S=P+Q+R\mathbf{S}=\mathbf{P}+\mathbf{Q}+\mathbf{R} in component form. (ii) Find the magnitude of S\mathbf{S}.
