Problem

The area (in square metres) of a rectangular billboard is represented by 8y2−2y−38y^2-2y-3, where the breadth is (2y−1)(2y-1) metres. (i) Factorise 8y2−2y−38y^2-2y-3 into linear factors. (ii) Hence find an expression for the length of the billboard in terms of yy. (iii) For y=2y=2, compute the length, breadth and area of the billboard and verify that the area matches the given expression.
