Problem

A plane electromagnetic wave is given by E(x,t)=E0sin⁡(kx−ωt)E(x,t)=E_0\sin(kx-\omega t) and propagates along the +x+x-direction. Two points AA and BB on the xx-axis are separated by λ4\dfrac{\lambda}{4}. (i) What is the phase difference between the electric fields at AA and BB at the same instant? (ii) Do the fields at these two points oscillate in phase or out of phase? Give a brief reason.
