Problem

Three balls P, Q and R, each of mass 2 kg2\,\text{kg}, are in the following situations: • P is at rest at a height of 5 m5\,\text{m} above the ground. • Q is moving horizontally at 4 m/s4\,\text{m/s} at a height of 3 m3\,\text{m}. • R is moving horizontally at 6 m/s6\,\text{m/s} on the ground level. Take g=10 m/s2g = 10\,\text{m/s}^2. (i) Calculate the total mechanical energy of each ball. (ii) Arrange the balls in decreasing order of their mechanical energy.
