Problem

The radioactive decay   611C→  511B+e++ν^{11}_{\;6}\mathrm{C} \rightarrow {}^{11}_{\;5}\mathrm{B} + e^{+} + \nu takes place with the daughter nucleus coming to rest. Given m(  611C)=11.011434 um(^{11}_{\;6}\mathrm{C}) = 11.011434\,\text{u}, m(  511B)=11.009305 um(^{11}_{\;5}\mathrm{B}) = 11.009305\,\text{u}, m(e+)=0.0005486 um(e^{+}) = 0.0005486\,\text{u} and 1 u=931.5 MeV/c21\,\text{u} = 931.5\,\text{MeV}/c^{2}, determine the maximum combined kinetic energy (in MeV) available to the positron and the neutrino.
