Problem

A square park has side length 50 m\sqrt{50}\,\text{m}. Around the park, a uniform concrete path of width 3 m3\,\text{m} is to be laid on all four sides. (i) Find the exact perimeter of the park and state whether this perimeter is rational or irrational. (ii) Calculate the exact area of the region that will be covered by the concrete path. Express your answer in simplest radical form and classify it as rational or irrational. (iii) A gardener claims that doubling the side length of the original square park will make its new area a rational number. Check this claim and justify your conclusion.
