Problem

Consider a geometric progression whose first term is 1212 and whose common ratio is r=3m−2m+4r=\dfrac{3m-2}{m+4}, where mm is a real parameter. (i) Determine all real values of mm for which the corresponding infinite series converges. (ii) For the values of mm found in part (i), obtain an expression for the sum to infinity in terms of mm. (iii) Hence find the exact sum when m=2m=2.
