Problem

In a circle with centre OO, two chords PQPQ and RSRS are equal in length. (i) Let OPOP and OROR be perpendicular to PQPQ and RSRS at XX and YY respectively. Prove that OX=OYOX = OY. (ii) If PQ=RS=24 cmPQ = RS = 24\,\text{cm} and the radius of the circle is 13 cm13\,\text{cm}, find the common distance of each chord from the centre.
