Problem

A plane glass slab (n=1.50)(n = 1.50) is placed over water (n=1.33)(n = 1.33). A ray of light travelling in air is incident on the upper surface of the glass at an angle of 40∘40^{\circ} to the normal. Calculate the angle the ray makes with the normal in the water after it emerges from the lower surface of the glass slab (answer to the nearest degree).
