Problem

On a straight frictionless track, three horizontal forces act on a small trolley moving along the track: 1200 dyn1200\,\text{dyn} towards the right, 0.60 N0.60\,\text{N} towards the right and 0.20 N0.20\,\text{N} towards the left. The trolley gains an acceleration of 0.80 m s−20.80\,\text{m}\,\text{s}^{-2} in the direction of the resultant force. Answer the following. (i) Convert 1200 dyn1200\,\text{dyn} into newtons. (ii) Calculate the magnitude of the resultant horizontal force acting on the trolley. (iii) Determine the mass of the trolley.
