Problem
A blackbody X has a peak emission wavelength of 800 nm at an absolute temperature of 1500 K. Another blackbody Y is at 2000 K.
(a) Calculate the peak emission wavelength for body Y.
(b) The temperatures of both bodies are now increased by the same factor such that the peak wavelength of body X becomes 400 nm. Determine this temperature factor and hence find the new peak wavelength for body Y.
