Problem

A slab of magnetic material fills the region 0≤x≤d0 \le x \le d with d=2.0 cmd = 2.0\,\mathrm{cm}, and is unbounded in the yy and zz directions. Its magnetisation grows linearly across the slab,M=M0xd z^,M0=4.0×105 A m−1,\mathbf{M} = M_0\frac{x}{d}\,\hat{\mathbf{z}}, \qquad M_0 = 4.0\times10^{5}\,\mathrm{A\,m^{-1}},and is zero outside the slab. There is no free current anywhere. ((a)) Find the magnitude of the bound volume current density inside the slab, and state its direction. ((b)) Find the magnitude of the bound surface current per unit length on the face x=dx = d, and state its direction. ((c)) Find the magnitude of the bound surface current per unit length on the face x=0x = 0.
