Problem

A rod-shaped sample is machined into a prolate spheroid of aspect ratio 1010, for which the demagnetising factor along the long axis is Na=0.0203N_a = 0.0203. The sample is uniformly magnetised along that axis to M=8.0×105 A m−1M = 8.0\times10^{5}\,\mathrm{A\,m^{-1}}, with no free current present. ((a)) Find HinH_{\rm in} along the axis. ((b)) Find BinB_{\rm in} along the axis.
