A gardener wants to design a rectangular flower bed of area 60m2. The length of the bed is to be 2m more than twice its width. Answer the following.
(i) Form a quadratic equation in w representing the width of the flower bed.
(ii) Using the equation obtained in part (i), determine whether the gardener can choose dimensions that give two different possible widths. Give reasons for your answer.
(iii) If your conclusion in part (ii) shows that two widths are possible, state both possible sets of dimensions of the flower bed. If not, state the single possible set of dimensions or explain why no real dimensions exist.
