Problem

A beam of 550 nm light emerges from a single rectangular slit 0.20 mm wide before reflecting from a flat glass plate 2.0 m away. Estimate the angular width of the central diffraction maximum leaving the slit, and decide whether the simple law of reflection will locate the brightest spot on the plate to within 1° accuracy.
