Problem

A tuning fork is set into vibration to produce sound in air. (i) Define (a) frequency and (b) time period of a sound wave. (ii) Using the above definitions, show that the product of the frequency and the time period of a wave is equal to 1. (iii) If the frequency of the tuning fork is suddenly made three times its initial value, what will be the new time period in terms of the original time period? Explain your reasoning.
