Problem

Three separate generators feed a common bus-bar. At a particular instant the currents supplied by the generators are recorded as 2.35 kA2.35\,\text{kA}, 450 A450\,\text{A} and 7.8 mA7.8\,\text{mA} respectively. (i) Convert each current to amperes in scientific notation and add them to obtain the total current in amperes. (ii) Express the total current obtained in part (i) using a single SI prefix attached to the ampere such that the coefficient is between 1 and 1000. (iii) If the bus-bar resistance is 2.0 mΩ2.0\,\text{m}\Omega, calculate the power dissipated in the bus-bar and express the answer using an appropriate SI prefix.
