Two plane mirrors are fixed so that the angle between their reflecting surfaces is exactly 90∘. A narrow light ray strikes the first mirror at a point B making an angle of 35∘ with the mirror surface.
(a) Draw a complete ray diagram showing the successive reflections at the two mirrors.
(b) Calculate the angle of incidence at the first mirror and the corresponding angle of reflection.
(c) Determine the angle of incidence at the second mirror.
(d) Show that the ray emerges in a direction exactly opposite (antiparallel) to the original incident ray and compute the total deviation suffered by the ray due to the two reflections.
