Problem

A thin lens forms real, inverted images for two different object placements: • When the object distance is 15 cm, the image distance is 30 cm. • When the object distance is 20 cm, the image distance is 20 cm. Using these data, determine the focal length of the lens (include sign) and state whether the lens is converging or diverging.
