Problem

In a double-slit setup, light of wavelength 600 nm600\,\text{nm} is used. The wave from slit S1S_1 travels an extra distance of 1.8 μm1.8\,\mu\text{m} in air compared with the wave from slit S2S_2 before reaching point R on the screen. The wave from S2S_2 passes through a glass plate of thickness 0.60 μm0.60\,\mu\text{m} and refractive index 1.501.50, while the S1S_1 wave travels only through air. What will be observed at point R? (a) Bright fringe (maximum) (b) Zero contrast (fringes disappear) (c) Dark fringe (minimum) (d) Bright fringe of half the maximum intensity
