Problem

At a point PP on a stretched rubber cord, the vertical displacement of the cord is recorded as a function of time. Two successive crests are found to pass PP at times 2.2 ms and 4.7 ms. The distance between successive crests measured along the cord is 1.2 m. (i) Determine the period and frequency of oscillation at PP. (ii) Hence calculate the speed with which the wave travels along the cord.
