Problem

Two sound waves A and B travel through air at 25 ∘C25\,^{\circ}\text{C}, so both move with the same speed. (i) Define wavelength. (ii) If the frequency of wave B is exactly twice that of wave A, state which wave has the longer wavelength and explain the factor by which the two wavelengths differ. (iii) A third sound wave C has a frequency that is one-half of the frequency of A. Arrange the wavelengths of A, B and C in ascending order, giving suitable reasoning for each successive comparison.
